Children change assumptions
Children move unpredictably, touch devices and leave small objects on floors. Adult locks and conservative motion are essential.
Pets are not obstacles
Dogs and cats may chase, block or investigate the robot. Detection helps, but owners need supervised introduction and clear operating rules.
Teach the household
Everyone should know how to pause or stop the robot, which rooms are private and what to do when it gets stuck.
Hazards multiply
Cables, toys, bowls, liquids and fragile objects create edge cases. No perception system is perfect.
Do not anthropomorphize permissions
A friendly voice can encourage over-trust. Children should understand that the robot is a machine with sensors and software, not a person.
